Sladan Adic, PhD was born in 1979 in Smederevska Palanka.

He graduated at the Faculty of Agriculture in 2006. He finished his doctoral academic studies in 2015, by defending the thesis “Regulation of flowering gene expression by vernalization in cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.)”

He has been working at the Institute for Vegetable Crops since 2008 at the Department for Genetics and Vegetable Breeding on breeding Brassicaceae. He is the Deputy Director of the Institute.

He has published over 50 scientific papers in journals or presented them at national and international meetings. He is the co-author of one cucumber variety. He is a member of “Serbian Physiological Society” and “Serbian Association of Plant Breeders and Seed producers”.

Scientific field: genetic of flowering and vernalization – repressors of flowering, the expression of FLC locus molecular model (markers) for determination of lines in hybrid production of cabbage with identical flowering moment, sustainable seed production in biennial Brassica varieties in stress conditions, cabbage breeding with increased sugar content, breeding cabbage for increased seed yield.
